This research arises from the urgent need to transform the digital economy and implement Islamic business ethics to support economic development, especially in the context of Sharia-based MSMEs in Indonesia. Digitalisation has become one of the main drivers of economic growth, while Islamic business ethics serves as a moral foundation and fair business governance. However, data shows that digital adoption among MSMEs is still limited, especially in rural areas, even though the number of Sharia business units, particularly in the halal food and beverage trade sector, continues to increase. This study examines the contribution of the digital economy and Islamic business ethics to economic development using a quantitative approach with secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and other relevant sources, analyzed through multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the model is highly significant, with an R² value of 0.999, meaning that 99.9% of the variation in economic development can be explained by the independent variables. The F-test (p < 0.001) confirms that the digital economy and Islamic business ethics jointly have a significant effect on economic development. Partially, the digital economy shows a positive but relatively modest influence, with a coefficient of 0.1586 (p = 0.003), while Islamic business ethics demonstrates a much stronger and statistically significant effect, with a coefficient of 2.1316 (p = 0.000). These findings suggest that although digitalisation contributes to economic development, the application of Islamic business ethics plays a more dominant role in supporting and enhancing economic development. However, strengthening digital capacity is still needed so that Islamic MSMEs can increase their competitiveness and make optimal contributions. Thus, this study emphasises the importance of synergy between digital technology innovation and the application of Islamic business ethics in driving sustainable economic growth.
