Abstract

Investment is a way to deal with economic problems in Indonesia. With the Islamic capital market sector and several types of facilities, it can bring the latest breakthroughs for the progress of Indonesian Islamic finance and economic development in Indonesia. At present, the progress of the Islamic capital market is so important that it is also progressing from year to year. According to statistical data conducted by the OJK, the number of sharia shares increased from 328 to 445 in 2019 from the number of sharia securities recorded in 2013. Similarly, sharia bonds and sharia mutual funds continued to grow. Starting from regulations, literacy and public knowledge to the lack of encouragement from stakeholders in the Islamic capital market. The purpose of this study is to determine the progress of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia, and steps to advance the Islamic capital market in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the development of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia is not always as expected, and the Islamic capital market faces many obstacles and obstacles. The first obstacle is the lack of general understanding of the Islamic capital market, so that little is known about the commodities of the Islamic capital market. The second obstacle is the absence of specific rules and regulations for the Islamic capital market. The third obstacle, the socialization of Islamic capital market products has failed to captivate investors. The Islamic capital market often has different perspectives that influence people's thinking. From a socialization perspective, the Islamic capital market only focuses on certain areas of the company or education that can attract investors. Furthermore, steps to advance the Islamic capital market in Indonesia are through 1) Ensuring compliance with Islamic investment, 2). Improving IT and HR of the sharia capital market.
